Former Scandal! actress Nomvelo Makhanya reveals how she doesn’t see herself back on the small screen anything soon again. Shortly after her exit from the show after portraying Lindiwe Ngema for almost ten years, the actress have her eyes on the prize.
The SAFTA award-winning actress left tongues wagging after her departure from e.tv’s Scandal. Social media is still talking about the way she exited the show and painful death followed by a funeral that ran for almost three days was heart-wrenching to watch.
Although viewers were extremely moved by Lindiwe Ngema, it was all in the name of entertainment. In real life, the petite, beautiful and equally talented Nomvelo Makhanya has a bigger fish to fry.
Reportedly, the actress took to Instagram live for a question and answer session and revealed that she does not see herself acting anything soon. IndAfrica also reported that in the near future if and when Makhanya decides to return to the small screen, it will be for a short period of time.
“I’m definitely not looking to be going into any “soapie” work anytime soon…I want to explore other things & being on a soapie won’t give me the time to do what I want. But also, if it’s part of God’s plan for me to be on a soapie, I’d probably stay for 6-12 months max.” wrote IndAfrica
Rumors surrounding her untimely exit on Scandal! was that the seasoned twenty-six-year-old has chosen love over her career. Reportedly, her relationship took priority because her boyfriend sort off gave her an ultimatum and she chose love over her career.

According to another online publication, it is reported that the reason why Nomvelo Makhaya will be leaving the show, it is that she wants to prioritize her relationship. She is reported to be in a very serious and committed relationship which is also a promising marriage.
Reportedly, her husband is not uncomfortable seeing her on compromising scenes, including kisses and being sexual with other men on television.
“A source close to the actress revealed to IndAfrica that although it was a tough decision to make she had to do it to secure her relationship as she’s in a serious relationship that is about to turn into a marriage and her husband-to-be isn’t comfortable seeing her kissing other men on screen” wrote Tinashe Eugene Mashunguri
Although Nomvelo Makhanya have not confirmed the news yet on her social media or by issuing a statement. However, she even plans on releasing music instead.
