Mpoomy Ledwaba Makes it to Forbes 30 Under 30!

Mpoomy Ledwaba has added another W to her list of achievements. The entrepreneur and digital creator shared that she is part of the Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 at the age of 29.

Crowned ‘Tomorrow’s Titans’, the 9th edition of The Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 list recognizes the game changers in the African continent.

“In a world where ‘nepotism babies’ have become commonplace and uninspired, the notion of ‘self-made’ is acquiring new meaning and respect. These young achievers are starting from scratch to build businesses and brands that are totally solutions-oriented. For this coveted ninth annual edition of the FORBES AFRICA 30 Under 30 list, our newest class of multi-tasking multi-hyphenate entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders show how they will grow human capital, put a dent in issues and lead Africa’s future – on their own terms,” the social media post reads.

Mpoomy reflected on her journey from being a shy 19-year-old University student, to being a part of the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.

“There are moments in life that have you crippled for a long time…. And inform your every decision and the person you become. I share the story of walking out of an exam room as I heard God say go…..I share it like it’s beautiful miracle that was loud and clear. The truth is that it became my “thorn”….I felt like a fraud, I questioned for the longest time whether I made things up and masked it as “God”,” she said.

Mpoomy continued to say, “I’ve lived my twenties as an overachiever with goals to tick just to heal the little 19-year-old who was scared, felt like an outsider and failure…… Today, God granted me the gift of a full circle /of closure. It’s as if He is saying “you no longer have to prove to YOU, enter your third decade with forgiveness, and redemption, set yourself free, and see yourself through my eyes.”

“The years after were crippling as you see in my notes…. But there’s light. I promise there’s light,” she added. Mpoomy said this achievement is dedicated to her father, I’m grateful to my dad, who gave me my first job at 9 as his tea lady and raised me to believe that I can do anything I put my mind to. Who has believed every dream I shared. Who invested in my first business and the man who showed me how to use my gifts and my hands. An incredible business man and visionary. Papa, this one is for you and me.”

Her husband Brenden Praise penned a heartfelt note saying she deserves the win and is proud of the work she has achieved at 29.

“No one deserves it More. Having watched you work for the Past 6/7 Years relentlessly to being your highest Self, Pushing boundaries, taking risks, you inspire me so much and I’m so glad you Squeezed in at 29,” he commented.

Other South Africans included in the list include beauty influencer Kay Yarms and musician Focalistic.
