Tobe Nwigwe has recruited Steph Curry to appear in his “Lil Fish, Big Pond” video, which hears the Texas rapper spit from the NBA sharpshooter’s perspective. The new track appears in Curry’s Underrated AppleTV+ documentary, and the fishing-themed visual was released on Wednesday (August 2).

The Golden State Warriors point guard raps along to parts of the verse from his point-of-view as he casts a fishing line from a row boat into an imaginary lake.

“Look how things have changed, they know I’m the one/ Daddy taught me how to flick my wrist, I’m my father’s son/ Think I’m pistol-packing how that ratchet on me like a gun/ They should put the basket in a casket after I am done,” Steph mouths in the video.

Underrated is now streaming on AppleTV+ and the riveting doc takes fans on Steph’s journey from unheralded college prospect and son of an NBA player to becoming the greatest shooter basketball has ever seen and a future Hall-of-Famer.

Nwigwe reflected on having the opportunity to work with Curry, who personally asked to have Tobe incorporated into the doc.

“Oh it’s phenomenal,” he told The Source. “Steph’s story, his journey is an immaculate display of what’s possible, as it relates to achieving greatness. For anybody in the world, no matter if you play basketball or not.

“The path that he took, and the work ethic, discipline, consistency, and stuff that he applied to his sport is amazing to see. It’s an honor to be a part of the story, even if it’s a song to highlight what he did.”

The Nigerian artist is coming off the release of his MoMINTs album in 2022 and has continued to elevate with a series of 2023 singles including a link-up with Nas in May for “On My Soul,” taken from the new Transformers: Rise of the Beasts movie.
