These are the designers who will be showcasing at AFI Cape Town Fashion Week

African Fashion International (AFI) is delighted to unveil the list of designers who will be presenting their collections at Cape Town Fashion Week (CTFW) 2023. The Cape Town International Convention Centre will play host to CTFW, a dazzling display of African fashion that will run from 22 – 25 March 2023. This event will bring together the continent’s foremost designers, who will display their recent work for all to see.

The Cape Town Fashion Week Fashion, Art & Design Expo CTFW will this year feature a Fashion, Art & Design Expo as well a Retail Marketplace. This will allow attendees the opportunity to Shop the Runway as soon as each designer’s show concludes.

Exquisite art pieces will be on display for audiences to enjoy and engage with whilst shoppers will be able to browse through the marketplace featuring unique fashion, beauty, and other African-made goods.

AFI has always explored the intersection between music and Fashion, and this year tech and knowledge sharing through the AFI Masterclasses and other industry conversations will make for an enjoyable and rich experience. This makes CTFW 2023 a never to be missed immersive and learning experience.

AFI continues to be the driving force behind the celebration of African talent, and we could not be more delighted to highlight the magnificent array of design talent during CTFW.

Tickets for Cape Town Fashion Week 2023 are now on sale, so make sure to get yours today! This season’s “Fashion, Art & Design” concept promises to be a thrilling display of African excellence. The CTFW designer showcase is sure to dazzle, with designers from multiple regions on the continent being featured.

Designers presenting at Cape Town Fashion Week are established names like Kat van Duinen (South Africa), Taibo Bacar (Mozambique), Imprint South Africa (South Africa), Scalo (South Africa) and Hugo Flear (South Africa). The show will also be attended by 2012 AFI Best Designer Award winner Ituen Basi (Nigeria). In addition, CTFW will feature upcoming talent, such as Kaylaamiel Creations (Botswana), Gvllvnt (South Africa), Alia Bare (Niger) and Masa Mara (Rwanda).

Debuting at Cape Town Fashion Week and fresh from showcasing her work at Canex Fashion Show in Barbados and the AFI Fashion Experience in Abu Dhabi, Shamyra Moodley’s Laani Raani designs will be much sought-after. As 2021’s AFI Fastrack Designer of the Year, she is definitely someone to watch.
